This article outlines the steps when handling the job-specific parts (Spec-Tagged and Special Order) where the amount used differs from the quantity ordered.

The process for Spec-Tagged parts.
  • Option A:
    1. Tech indicates he uses all 4 hinges in SD-Mobile.
    2. Tech notifies the office that he only used 2 of the 4.
    3. The office parts person cancels usage of two of the parts returning the other 2 to stock.
    4. If the office had transferred the parts from another stock location they now have to transfer unused parts back to that location.
  • Option B:
    1. Tech indicates no usage of the parts.
    2. Tech notifies the office that he only used 2 of the 4.
    3. The office parts person cancels the SpecTag and returns 2 parts to the location they were transferred from.
    4. The office parts person manually enters usage of the 2 parts.
  • Option C:
    1. Tech indicates no usage of the parts.
    2. Tech indicates the usage of the parts as stock parts in SD-Mobile.
    3. The office parts person cancels the SpecTag and returns 2 parts to the location they were transferred from.
The process for Special Order Parts.
  • Option A:
    1. Tech indicates he uses all 4 hinges in SD-Mobile.
    2. Tech notifies the office that he only used 2 of the 4.
    3. The office parts person goes into the archived Special order Parts and resurrects the part.
    4. The office parts person goes into the Special Order Parts and creates the daughter band by indicating less than ordered quantity was received splitting it into 2 bands with 2 parts each. This is accomplished by removing the date from the "Date Received" box, then performing a right-click in the empty "Date Received" box. This will display a prompt that will allow you to indicate the actual amount received (or in this case, used).
    5. The office parts person indicates usage on one of the bands and uses the other to manage the remaining parts to the grave.
  • Option B:
    1. Tech indicates no usage of the parts.
    2. Tech notifies the office that he only used 2 of the 4
